A Feng Shui question?

I reading up on feng shui, and I’m leaning a lot. However my question(s) 1. How do I aline the ba gua? Do I put it in the direction ( like south of fame ect…) or do I aline it with my frount door? Putting fame in front of me?
2. How and why should/would feng shui work? I know it has to do with the placement of things and the chi around it, but why will that afect my life outside of my home? Any help would be great, thanks.

I am also applying feng shui into my life. It can work but my difficulty is others in the household. Their clutter and chaos negates a lot of what I have tried to accomplish. But I keep trying.

I would love to study feng shui formally but there are not very many people in my area who have mastered the study. Be careful of the books you select. I work at it a little bit every day.

It does make a difference. I use my front door for placement of the bagua and the entrance of each room for its own bagua.
