The year of the ox is the second year of the Chinese twelve year zodiac, coming after the rat.
The legend of the twelve animals states that the rat rode the Ox’s back and jumped across onto the riverbank first, which is why the rat is the first sign of the Zodiac.
People born in the year of the Ox are said to be dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.
