What is Feng Shui?
Most foreigners living in China we have heard of Feng Shui, however, the mystery and magic that is associated has convinced most of us it's primarily a dogma of ancient superstitions. Feng Shui is not a religion, but has roots in Buddhism and Hinduism (as well as in cosmology and other forms of metaphysics). They say it takes an apprentice Feng Shui thirty years to master the art. That said, I would say that the intention of this paper is to describe exactly what the Feng Shui is not a how-to channel its power.
Name Feng Shui in China and can be translated as "wind and water." In its essence, Feng Shui is to live consciously in harmony with the Earth and enjoy the best quality of life possible during his stay here. It is the art of balancing and improving the flow of natural energies, or Chi, which are the essence of each person, place or object. Feng Shui was developed thousands of years from a folk art system very sophisticated philosophy and science, often blending the old and new age trends in Western fashion. But its ancient form is still practiced by professional consultants throughout China, and is based on the principles of traditional Chinese book, the I Ching.
Feng Shui was first used in ancient China about 3000 years to determine the most suitable for the graves of their ancestors to give them best place to help their living descendants. More Later, he began to be used in selecting sites for palaces and government buildings and monuments, until finally whole cities were designed and constructed in accordance with the principles of Feng Shui.
Hong Kong is an example of this, and prosperity is often cited as an example of Feng Shui efficiency. Approximately 90% of all properties that are built according to Feng Shui protocols. An example of trying manipulate chi energy, the Hong Kong Bank of China was sued by neighboring businesses due to the construction of a building seventy acute angles. There is no doubt that he knew the building's architect exactly what he was doing and deliberately designed a structure that sends an arrow murderer chi energy to its competitors. The use of the occupants around the building has been erected Feng Shui mirrors to reflect the dangerous energy to its source, and then initiate litigation.
Feng Shui is based on the idea Asians dominating everything in our environment, living or inanimate, is imbued with energy. This is no longer considered a mere belief, is now a scientific fact that objects and elements are made of small molecules and atoms that vibrate and are constantly in motion. These objects elements are impregnated with an energy that can not be seen with the naked eye, but are able to influence our daily lives.
The energy (or chi) of an object, person or place is very important in Feng Shui. The Chi refers to what is space and chi flow is unique to every home, business and recreational areas. The space is defined as the directional orientation of a structure and is traditionally determined with a compass Chinese Feng Shui. The tools used to evaluate space calculate the Chi field, its yin and yang and the five elements.
Chi can be divided into two components: (1) Yin and Yang, representing the opposing forces are in constant interaction between himself, masculine / feminine, active / passive, destructive or creative, soft / hard, dark / light. These forces are always moving and always seeking balance. Y: (2) The five elements are: water, wood, fire, metal and earth. These elements are intended to affect everything we do, the determination our personalities, our professions and our degree of success in life.
Learn more about Feng Shui is not a study of "magic" but rather, is to develop awareness of life, the natural elements that we deal daily in our lives.
