What Is Feng Shui Design – 8 Essential Feng Shui Design Guidelines For Your Next Home
1. Power box placement: Take care to never place a power box on the outside of any bedroom wall. The radiation from these sources is extremely high, but diminishes with distance. The recommended distance from the power box is at least 2.5 metres. EMF radiation has been implicated in long-term health studies worldwide. Recommended placements include the outside wall of a garage, carport, corridor, hall, storage area, or as a last resort, laundry, toilet or bathroom.
2. Long corridors: Where attention goes, energy follows. Long straight lines are the bane of good Feng Shui, because energy is rushed along before it has a chance to nourish the residence. Especially avoid having a room at the end of the corridor, where a person might sleep in line with the corridor.
3. Opposing doors: These are symbolic of confrontation, and are best avoided. It is particularly problematic when opposing doors are slightly out of alignment. Also avoid bedroom doors opening onto views of toilets or bathrooms.

5. Ensuites and Walk-in Robes: Again, another anathema of Feng Shui. The worst offenders are those that have no doors to close, and join directly onto the bedroom.
6. Coffin position and other bedroom arrangements: Avoid having any part of the bed directly infront of the door. The ideal position for the bed is in the corner furthest away from the door – in the diagonally opposite corner. Avoid having the bedhead having to be placed against a window. And NEVER include mirrored wardrobe doors in bedrooms.
7. Kitchen arrangements: The kitchen is the supreme centre of a household as it is from here that a family gets its physical nourishment. The “fire from the hearth” is a fundamental archetype of human consciousness, and is expressed in modern homes as stoves, ovens and microwaves. Avoid placing a water appliance (fridge, freezer, sink, dishwasher) either next to, or opposite a heating appliance, because symbolically, water energy will extinguish the fire energy, and the nourishment capacity of the home will be compromised.
8. Roof colour: Never choose blue or black roofs, as these colours are symbolic of water energy, which is unstable when elevated. It suggests the sudden onslaughts of problems. What Is Feng Shui Design
