In the art of FengShui-What position should bed be in bedroom for positive energy (chi) and flow?

My girlfriend believes in something called Feng Shui. She wants to rearrange her room, but wants to know which way to position the bed to creative energy and flow?

Actually in Feng Shui you need to know all sorts of factors including but not limited to:
What other furniture is in the room?
shape and dim of room?
Which way is the door wall facing (N,S,E or W)?
What is the orination of whole building containing the room?
Are there any exposed pipes?
Where are there outside noises?
Are there area’s other will be passing all the time?

Feng Shue is an art of energy flow. At a very basic level you can think of it as air flow but it is alot more then that. So for example it will do her no good to point the bed towards the door if there are other items blocking the flow. Or it puts her bed right next to a water pipe or heating duck. (Which can happen even if you can’t see the item as it’s behind the wall it counts in Feng Shui and other practical applications.)

I don’t really practice Feng shui per/say but I do research it as I design furniture for the Medical Industry. I did learn that if nothing else there are some very practicle results from designing a room with Fung Shui in mind. And I can see some strong parallels with western science studies, like air flow, thermodynamics, ergonomics, and traffic flow (I can’t recall the technical name.) In Architicture they have long studied the way people will move about and use a building to maximize it space usage and the people’s comfort, for example the Kitchen Triangle. Just watch out for snake-oil merchants and people promising if you just do this one little thing your whole life will magically change. That never happens.
